Airpura air purifiers have been used by hospitals and homes around the world as part of their protocol for microorganism containment for the past two decades.

Here are the test results that were performed on our UV air purifiers (the UV600 and the P600) conducted by Dr. Wladyslaw Kowalski, Aerobiological Engineering, LLC, 2015 on behalf of Airpura to attest to the air purifier's efficacy at removing some of the world's most deadliest and contagious airborne viruses, bacteria and mold.


AIRBORNE & AEROSOLIZED VIRUSES

For the past two decades, Airpura air purifiers have been used in medical environments to abate particles that are being aerosolized through various medical procedures. Aerosolization may cause the COVID-19 particles to become airborne.

Airborne transmission may happen, as has been shown with other viral respiratory diseases, during aerosol-generating procedures (e.g., tracheal intubation, bronchoscopy), thus WHO recommends airborne precautions for medical workers during these procedures. Over the past few years, COVID-19 respresents the 5th pathogen where hospitals have employed the same air safety protocol as they have used previously in the treatment of SARS. 


The information that is being made available to the public is continually changing, but here are the latest studies from eminent medical journals. Consumers can review the science and research that has been conducted regarding the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 and be the judge themselves.


Air Purifiers: A Supplementary Measure
to Remove COVID-19 

New study * shows that air purifiers have the potential to reduce the exposure of healthcare workers to virus-laden aerosols and serve as a useful supplement to other protective procedures. Additionally, COVID -19 patients, or suspected cases, who are being quarantined at home, using air purifiers can also reduce the exposure of those in the same households to the virus-laden aerosols, thus reducing the risk of household infection

REMOVAL OF AEROSOLIZED COVID-19 WITH AIR PURIFIERS IN WUHAN HOSPITALS

A study* was conducted at two Wuhan hospitals during the COVID-19 outbreak in February and March 2020. These hospitals were designated to treat patients testing positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). The study investigated the aerodynamic nature of COVID-19 within different areas of the hospital and ways to remove traces of the virus. Findings concluded that viral RNA of COVID-19 with aerosol size distributions were reduced to undetectable levels in the high-risk areas of the hospital after prolonged operation of indoor air purifiers as part of sanitization protocols.

Coronavirus could travel 27 feet, stay in air for hours: MIT researcher

  • Pressure seal: Airpura's unique pressure seal on the filter chamber ensures that all of the dirty air passes through the filters. Other systems allow leakage and do not achieve the 99.97 % Hepa filtration rating;
  • Maximize filtration with no rubber off-gassing found with other filters and using a felt gaskets seal the filter chamber.;
  • No plastic vapors are emitted due our all metal housing;
  • Backward curved motorized impeller eliminates the vibrations and noise associated with older motor and shaft set ups;
  • Motor out of the air flow. Most air purifiers blow the clean air over the motor and pick up fresh impurities;
  • Unimpeded airflow simple and direct internal airflow avoids the air turbulence, inefficiency and noise associated with more convoluted systems;
