I have mixed feelings. The website has virtually no description for this filter; instructions for use, purpose (how it differs from normal profilters, who it is best suited for), if it is washable for reuse etc. I also notice my HEPA filter is VERY dirty while this remains clean. I'm not sure if that's a sign that it's doing its job, or not really..
I have used the R600 for many years in my she shed office. It is 10 x 16 and the purifier helps remove the pine wood smell that can be overwhelming when it gets hot in the board and batten siding shed. Getting ready to order all new parts for that new filter fresh air!
Love how the machine works. It literally eats cigarette smoke odors. Very different from normal air purifiers. Now for my wish list of bells and whistles: 1) The speed indicator (which is literally the only knob other than the one/off switch) could be bigger with a few notches indicating a scale of 1-10 or 1-5 so people can align where to turn the knob. 2) It would be fabulous if there were a sensor with an option to automatically increase/decrease speed based on smoke fume intensity 3) The screws for the bottom to access the filter could be hooks instead. Those screw heads will be worn down after a few air filter changes. 3) The directions for the air filters could easily be more descriptive. For example, should the tar filter blue side be facing in or out when replacing? And are you sure the HEPA filter will last for one year? During my first tar filter replacement (3 months of continuous use for a family with two smokers in a designated room) the HEPA core filter seemed far dirtier than the exterior tar filter. So, kudos on a well-functioning product. Please keep upgrading the easy of use on the next generation. It is brilliant and does work remarkably well. Just not very easy/practical to swap the filters.
I searched and searched and found this unit to be the best air purifier on the market and ordered it. It's built very heavy duty. The filters last a long time. I purchased an oversized unit on purpose so I can run it on medium to get the same cfms but even on high it's really not that loud and there's no fan rattling. I really love how the filters are before the fan so dust doesn't build up on the fan blades and cause them to become unbalanced after a while. Also love how there is no smart mess. Just a knob to adjust the variable speed motor. Just a solid and well built unit. Very satisfied.
