After a year, I'm pretty happy with this purifier. I live very close to where the 2025 fires were in Los Angeles. The smoke was awful outside, but things seemed OK with the G714 running inside. Day-to-day since then, things seem fresh even with multiple cats (and a sensitive person) in the household. This purifier was a huge upgrade for me compared to the types of HEPA air filters I've bought in the past, so some things took getting used to. In particular, these units intake air through lots of small holes -- no large gaps or areas that trap hair and need to be cleaned regularly. It was confusing not to have that visual indicator that it was "working." On the other hand, the goal isn't to get big hairs (that's what vacuuming is for!), but keep smaller more dangerous particles out of our lungs. It's also an adjustment not to change the filters as often as cheaper units. It's convenient, of course, but made me wonder at first. The filter seemed to stay surprisingly clean the first couple months and I was questioning if it was really doing its job. After almost a year when I took things apart (and shook out the prefilter outside) it became clear that it had collected a lot. Speaking of taking it apart, the screws seem a little finicky when you need to change filters, so make sure you have the right screwdriver or wrench and take your time so they don't strip. Fortunately you don't have to open it very often, and the upside is that the whole device is very sturdy and seems built like a tank.
