Pricey esp filters

It took a lot of effort to compare, get all the details and buy this air purifier and it is not cheap. There is also not that much clear information on model comparisons etc online (esp when you get into details). Customer service was pretty good on phone but who has time to call and get this clarified. Generally this industry is really expensive and the equipment is loud. I am not sure it is safe for hearing development of kids. The replacement filters being so expensive is the worst of all. Overall, at least this company has good amount of carbon and good customer service but whether we need these etc is a big question. I was pregnant and had read about a bunch of stuff that could be wrong with our indoor air quality so got it. Now it's a lot of work to buy and change filters and a lot of money! We got a bit busy with baby and didn't change filters and we really got sick. It's a new liability now. Also, reminders come in at 6 months - not sure if the reminders are accurate. There needs to be some subsidies to make this available to all and make them less noisy and requiring less changes of filters.
